Smart Manufacturing

The compute, I/O, and visualization layer that turns a factory floor into a connected one — Axiomtek edge hardware, ICP DAS distributed I/O, and Adisra SCADA/HMI, from one partner in Malaysia.

01 — Who this is for

Built for the people who keep the line running

This page serves two groups: plant and production engineers modernizing factory-floor operations, and factory-floor system integrators connecting machines to plant-wide visibility. It is written for buyers evaluating a full-stack integration — compute, I/O, and SCADA/HMI from one partner — rather than standalone hardware purchases.

Plant & production engineers

Modernizing the factory floor without stopping it

You own uptime, quality, and OEE — and you need data out of machines that were never designed to share it.

  • Connect legacy machines without ripping out existing PLCs
  • Get OEE and quality data off the line and into live dashboards
  • Hardware rated for heat, dust, vibration, and 24/7 duty cycles

Factory-floor system integrators

Connecting machines to plant-wide visibility

You specify and commission the systems — and you need a supply chain that covers every layer, not just one box.

  • One supply chain for gateways, distributed I/O, and SCADA licensing
  • Protocol breadth: Modbus TCP/RTU, EtherCAT, OPC UA, MQTT
  • Local engineering support across Malaysia and Singapore

Evaluating full-stack integration rather than standalone hardware? The stack below is specified, supplied, and supported as one system — hardware, software, and edge AI from a single partner.

02 — The Solution Stack

Hardware, software, and edge AI — one partner

Axiomtek Malaysia's smart manufacturing stack combines three product lines: Adisra SCADA/HMI software for plant-wide visibility, Axiomtek IIoT gateways and DIN-rail embedded systems for edge computing, and ICP DAS PLC/PAC distributed I/O for machine and sensor connectivity — specified, supplied, and supported as one stack.

Software · Supplied by Edex Technology

Adisra — SCADA/HMI for plant-wide visibility and control

Adisra SCADA/HMI is the layer plant management actually sees: real-time dashboards, alarms, and historical trends across every line, running on Axiomtek panel PCs and industrial workstations.

  • Real-time monitoring and control across the whole plant
  • Alarm management, historical trending, and reporting
  • Web-based HMI clients for supervisors off the floor
  • Licensed and supported locally by Edex Technology

Axiomtek — IIoT gateways and DIN-rail embedded systems

Fanless IIoT gateways and DIN-rail embedded systems built for plant-floor deployment — heat, dust, vibration, and 24/7 duty cycles — with the protocol support to sit between machines and software.

  • DIN-rail embedded systems and IIoT gateways for cabinet mounting
  • Fanless, wide-temperature designs for 24/7 operation
  • Protocol conversion across Modbus, OPC UA, and MQTT
  • Edge AI-ready platforms for inference on the line

I/O · Supplied by Edex Technology

ICP DAS — PLC/PAC and distributed I/O

ICP DAS PLC/PAC controllers and distributed I/O connect the machines, sensors, and meters spread across the floor — including legacy equipment that was never designed to be connected.

  • PLC/PAC controllers for machine-level control
  • Distributed remote I/O for sensors, meters, and actuators
  • Modbus TCP/RTU, EtherCAT, and PROFINET options
  • Retrofit-friendly for legacy production lines

03 — Edge AI

Edge AI in smart manufacturing

Edge AI in smart manufacturing means running inference on the line itself — on an Axiomtek gateway beside the machine — instead of sending production data to the cloud. Predictive quality models flag drift and defects as parts are made, and OEE monitoring catches slowdowns and micro-stops before they become downtime.

Predictive quality

Machine-vision and sensor models score units as they are made. Drift is caught at the station where it starts — not at final QC, after the scrap has accumulated.

OEE monitoring

Availability, performance, and quality are computed at the edge in real time. Anomalies and micro-stops surface immediately as alarms and trends in Adisra SCADA/HMI.

Why at the edge: millisecond latency on the line, no cloud dependency for critical decisions, and production data never leaves the plant network.

04 — How it comes together

One connected factory floor, end to end

On a connected factory floor, machine-level sensors — temperature, vibration, vision, energy — wire into ICP DAS distributed I/O and PLC/PAC modules at the machine. An Axiomtek IIoT gateway aggregates that data, converts protocols, and runs edge analytics where the data is born. Adisra SCADA/HMI sits above it all, giving plant management the full-floor view: live dashboards, alarms, and historical trends.

Every layer comes from the same partner network: ICP DAS and Adisra are supplied by Edex Technology, Axiomtek Malaysia's sister company, and Axiomtek hardware ships from Axiomtek Malaysia itself. One specification conversation covers the whole path from sensor to screen.

05 — FAQ

Smart manufacturing questions, answered directly

Direct answers to the questions plant engineers and system integrators ask most often when scoping a smart manufacturing project in Malaysia and Singapore.

06 — Contact

Talk to a smart manufacturing engineer

Tell us what you are sourcing — Axiomtek hardware, ICP DAS I/O, Adisra software, or a custom build — and an engineer who works on factory-floor deployments in Malaysia and Singapore will respond with specifics, not a brochure.

  1. 1

An engineer reviews your requirement — line type, protocols, and existing control systems included.

  2. 2

You get a specific recommendation across the Axiomtek, ICP DAS, and Adisra layers, with local pricing and lead times.

  3. 3

If the fit is custom, the requirement goes straight to the Axiomtek OEM/ODM team.
